Plein Air — La Jolla Cove #2 — 8 x 10 Canvas Panel — Oil
Plein Air painting in La Jolla. After three mornings of driving out the Cove. 15 minute drive on a busy day. I finally set up my easel and did a painting on the spot. It was fun and exhilarating. Look for more of these in the future.

We had an interesting guest at the Clairemont Art Guild last week, Paul Strahm. Paul demonstrated Alla Prima painting and talk about plein aire painting. The things he said and the way he talked about painting was inspiring. I have been working in small studies ever since he spoke. I am grateful for the way he shared his emotional connection to being an artist. The way he expressed the Cove has encouraged me to spend more time there. As a result of his talk I am purchasing a book called Alla Prima: Everything I Know About PaintingAlla Prima by Richard Schmid. The latest edition is back ordered to December 20. As far as i can tel to get a copy of the current edition will cost 150.00 on Amazon.
BTW, the FTC says I need to tell you that if you purchase anything through links on my site, I might get a commission. Thanks for checking in today. Please feel free to leave a friendly comment.
