Both of my paintings were accepted into the San Diego Art Department’s Plein Air Exhibition. This is the first plein air competition I entered and the only time both of my pieces have been accepted. I am freakin thrilled — that’s a good thing. The paintings wiil be on display from May 15th – June 13th 2010.

I will be there, if any of you can make it that would be great.
The address is The San Diego Art Department, 3830 Ray Street, San Diego, CA 92104

Plein Air North Park Paintings Not Entered ( 5 x 7 Oil )
I could only enter two. SO smaller studies did not get entered into the contest.
This one is just a little to non descriptive for me, but is was a nice exercise.

Although the detail here is good the color is not bright enough

The Art Department itself was my first practice

Another Interpretation of Rudford’s
I completed this 5 x 7 on Tuesday Morning. It is almost where I want it.

There is a good foundation here for me to work with. To be true to the guide lines for the North Park Plein Air Contest, I will return to the site to continue on this painting.
